Voci Dance, originally founded as Voci Dance Group in 2000, was a dancer’s collective that has
transformed itself since its premier at the 2001 Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival. In 2003
Voci Dance Group earned its status as a non-profit company, becoming Voci Dance, Inc. During this
time, Voci Dance developed several educational programs and fervently seeks opportunities to
educate K-12 students. The programs are aligned with the Florida State Sunshine Standards and
integrate language arts, social studies, science and problem solving skills with creative movement
skills. Voci’s 2006-2007 performance season brought about changes in leadership, as founder
Adrienne Nichols stepped down as Executive Director. Kelli Cummins, who has worked with Voci
since 2003, will fulfill the Executive Director duties while founding member Genevieve Bernard will
serve as Artistic Director. The Company commissions work by nationally renowned artists and also
collaborates with local arts organizations. Kelli and Genevieve are eager to reintroduce this
hardworking and talented Company and hope to reestablish old ties as well as form new
relationships with a community they are proud to call home.
